Take a letter, Mr MP - satisfied LLL customer at Poynders Gardens

It’s always great when residents write thank you letters about the LLL programme and what’s been done to modernise their home.

Miss P of Poynders Gardens Estate wrote to say how delighted she was with everything our contractor partners Mears had done. When she realised that she would be at work when MP Chuka Umunna was doing a walkabout to see LLL work on the estate, she wanted to make sure he got the message in person.

So she wrote another letter and asked her Mum to hand it to him.

“A belated thankyou to all who worked on my flat.

“Everybody who was in the team to transform my kitchen and bathroom did a very fantastic job and I am so very proud of my flat now. I will be taking time off in May to decorate throughout, as the rooms you worked on make the rest look shabby.

“The team of guys I had were very professional and also extremely respectful in my property, as I still had to live here too. Your guys cleaned up everyday and left me with hot water and my cooker. Please relay my thanks to them.

“Also a massive thanks to (Resident Liaison Officers) Kerry and Joe who kept me up to date throughout my work programme and again were very respectful at all times in a sometimes stressful period of work. I’m really happy. Thanks guys. XX”

The picture shows Chuka Umunna MP on his recent walkabout at Poynders Gardens with two representatives from the Mears Group team - Martin Haldys, Contracts Manager, and in the centre of the picture, Kerry Warman, Resident Liaison Officer.

The Chair of Poynders Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) also wrote to praise the builders on behalf of almost everyone from the estate, calling them “a great bunch of workers and they considered the needs of the residents… Every time I contacted any one of them about any issues with kitchens or bathrooms they responded at once. Make sure as a company you don’t let them leave – they are an asset to the Mears Group.”
