11 January: Partnership working leads the way at the 2012 residents' conference

Residents from tenants and residents associations across Lambeth joined us and Cllr Pete Robbins, to discuss how we can support residents to get involved in their community.

The workshops held focused on supporting tenants and residents associations (TRAs), encouraging residents to get involved and helping residents through Welfare Reform. Contractors, the London Mutual Credit Union, High Trees Community Development Trust and Lambeth College were on hand to talk with residents.

Streatham Hill TRA won a £1,000 prize in the Dragons den competition to setup their ‘Game On’ table tennis project. And the following residents were honoured for their contribution to community life on their estates:

  • Sandy Ellis (Cressingham Gardens TRA)
  • Dave McEvoy (Weir Road TRA - pictured)
  • Jean Thomas (Springfield estate TRA)
  • Jean Haley MBE (Central Hill estate TRA)
  • Graham Nicholls (Cheshire estate TRA)
  • Hazel Turay (Tulse Hill estate TRA)
  • Steve James (Dolland House TRA)
  • Grace Lally (Loughborough estate TRA)
