Our Independent Board members

Independent members are appointed to the board using an open and competitive recruitment process. This helps us to bring people with significant housing and other professional experience to Lambeth London Living. Each representative serves for four years.

We have four Independent Board members:

Faisal Butt photo Faisal was elected to the Board in 2012. He has been a Lambeth resident for five years and has worked in the Housing industry for over 10 years.

As a Housing Strategy and Partnerships Manager for Tower Hamlets Council Faisal works closely with housing providers and the Government to drive forward improvements in housing.

Faisal first became interested in housing when he worked for Rochdale Council as a Housing Policy Officer; he worked with the Rochdale ALMO and other housing providers to improve the delivery of services to tenants and residents in the borough. Since moving to London from Manchester in 2007, Faisal has worked across London, firstly in Hounslow and then Tower Hamlets.

As a resident, Faisal is keen to bring his expertise to Lambeth and contribute to the borough. As an active member of the housing industry he looks forward to help improve services whilst ensuring value for money is presented in all services across Lambeth London Living.

Nick Cattermole photo Nick Cattermole was appointed as an independent member of the Lambeth London Living board in 2010, and is also the Chair of the Lambeth London Living Audit Committee.

Nick has lived in Streatham since 1981 and was an elected Lambeth Councillor for the Brixton Hill area between 1991 and 2006. As a Councillor he met many local residents who were unhappy with the service they received from Lambeth Housing and got involved in Lambeth London Living to help improve things.

Nick has been involved in many Lambeth community groups over the years and is currently Treasurer of the Friends of Streatham Common. He is also a director of Broadway London, a charity which works with homeless people. Nick is an accountant, working for the Royal College of Art at the College’s Director of Finance and Estates.

Nick can see that there is a real prospect of change in the level of service provided to our residents.
